Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced Thursday the dates for the CBSE class 10 and 12 Board exams for 2021. The CBSE class 10 and 12 Board exams will start on the 4th may. The exams will end on June 10, the education minister said. The results of the class 10 and class 12 CBSE Board examinations will be declared before July 15th.

In view of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the Ministry of Education has previously postponed the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams. Usually, the practical exams are held in January and the theory exams start every year in February and end in March.

"Schools will be allowed to conduct the practical / project / internal assessment of class X and class XII from March 1, 2021 to the last date of the theory exam of the same class," say the guidelines.

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams will take place offline. The program was also scaled back following the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. To reduce the spread of the virus, schools have been closed in India since March. They were partially reopened in some states from October 15. However, a few states have decided to keep them closed due to an increase in the number of infections.

Over 1.2 million students have appeared for Class 12 Boards, while over 1.8 million have participated in Class 10 Board Exams hosted by the CBSE in 2020.

In view of the coronavirus outbreak, the West Bengal Council of Upper Secondary Education has postponed the dates for the Class 10 and 12 Council exams to 2021. The West Bengal Secondary Education Council exams will begin at from June 1st. The examinations of the upper secondary education council will take place from 15 June.
