The internet has made the world smaller. Updated Information is at our fingertips with the help of social networking. We can even more access to news and opinions than ever before. It's now entirely common to hear someone ask you to share something on Google+ or to receive breaking news via Twitter on your phone. The world has been changing rapidly.

Facebook
Facebook was founded in 2004, its mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.

Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The founders had initially limited the website's membership to Harvard students, but later expanded it to colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities and later to their high-school students. Now It  allows anyone who claims to be at least 13 years old worldwide to become a registered user of the website, although proof is not required.

2. Twitter

Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets".

Registered users can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them. Users access Twitter through the website interface, SMS, or mobile device app. Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco and has more than 25 offices around the world.

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass and by July 2006 the site was launched. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with more than 100 million users above.

3. LinkedIn

LinkedIn  is a business-oriented social networking service. Founded in December 2002 and launched on May 5, 2003. It is mainly used for professional networking. In 2006, LinkedIn increased to 20 million viewers above. LinkedIn reports more than 259 million acquired users in more than 200 countries and territories.

4. Pinterest
Pinterest is a web and mobile application company that offers a visual discovery, collection, sharing, and storage tool. Users create and share the collections of visual bookmarks (boards). The boards are created through a user selecting an item, page, website, etc. and pinning it to an existing or newly created board. Users save and share pins from multiple resources onto the boards based on a plethora of criteria, e.g., similar characteristics, a theme, birthday parties, planning a vacation, writing a book, interior decorating, holidays. Boards can develop projects, organize events, or save pictures and data together. The site was founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp. Tumblr is a micro blogging platform and social networking website founded by David Karp and owned by Yahoo Inc. The service allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short form blog. 7. Instagram
Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them on a variety of social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. A distinctive feature is that it confines photos to a square shape, similar to Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid images, in contrast to the 4:3 aspect ratio typically used by mobile device cameras. Vine is a short-form video sharing service. Founded in June 2012, it was acquired by micro blogging website Twitter in October 2012, just prior to its official launch. The service allows users to record and edit six-second long looping video clips, and revine. Ravine is where users can share other people’s posts with followers. Some Vines are revined automatically based on what is popular. The videos can be then published through Vine's social network and shared on other services such as Facebook and Twitter. Vine's app can also be used to browse through videos posted by other users, along with groups of videos by theme, and trending videos.
